More entries...I promise!

So I have been dragging my feet about updating my site.  I have been doing lots of scrapping...some even for me!  On Jessica's second birthday, I was up to date on her album.  Now of course, I need to make an album of pictures from her special day.  I had all of her albums out for family to check out durinng her birthday party and I was so proud.  I love this hobby and I love what it will mean to my daughter when she is all grown up to be able to see her life through my eyes.

I am going to start teaching more classes at Scrapbooking's Inn.  I would love to teach more layout classes but I am worried I am not qualified.  I let my pictures determine my layouts; the colors, the paper, and the embellishments.  Although occasionally I have found paper or embellishments that dictate what I decide to do.  Prepping to teach a class forces me to break out of that box.  So that is my goal for the fall...atleast two layout classes.  Maybe Halloweenie?

I have also been making a lot of cards recently.  I refuse to buy cards and if you saw my crafting room, you would know why.  I have so may materials and tools, it would be silly not to utilize them.  Plus I really like cardmaking...its like a small creative sprint.  I created the invitations to a good friend's baby shower and they got rave reviews!  I have also already started working on my Christmas cards this year!

I know this site should focus primarily on my paper crafting but I feel like I need to talk about the things that drive me to create.  My friends and family are so wonderfully suportive of all I do and I love them so much for that.  My daughter is a huge inspiration...I feel like I am forever trying to create something as beautiful as she is, and I know I will never reach that goal.

Music is always on in my home and I have been listening to Sara Barielles recently.  I know her first album by heart and even though her second album doesn't come out until next week, you can get a sneak peek at in on the internet and I am so loving it.  I think in the future I will be adding a special page about music and all it inspires me to do.  Stay posted!

New Site Now, New Look Coming...

So I forgot to renew the domain name to my old site.  But I had business cards with Jenny G Paper Crafts on them, so I decided to change my website's name.  Although I have not been update my website, it hardly means I have not been crafting.  I have been quite busy; taking classes, making cards, prepping for classes I am teaching and events that I am running.  I have lots of info to share.

I will be running the store on July 24 and 25 at Scrapbooking's Inn.  I have several classes set up as well as two Watch and Crop events.  On Saturday, July 24 at 10:00 am I will be teaching a layout class for $10.  I will be focussing on using border punches, ribbon and buttons on your page.

Still on Saturday from 12-5, I will be showing episodes from Sex and the City.  Come scrap, snack, and laugh for $10.  Erika will also be at the store to provide one on one Cricut Tutorials for $10 an hour.

Then on Sunday, July 25 from 12-4,for $5 we will be scrapping and watching the feel good 80's classic, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and if we have time "Some Kind of Wonderful," which in my opinion has one of the best kiss scenes in it.  I will have some card kits on sale for $10.

Then from 4 - 6, I will be running the Explosion Photo Box class for $20.  This paper project is a great alternative to the traditional scrapbook.

I am so excited to be a part of the Scrapbooking's Inn team!  The women who teach here are all so talented and inspiring, it motivates me to do learn and do more myself.  I hope you can come see me in at the end of July!

Back to School...

Well not really.  Tomorrow marks my return to teaching, but this time in a creative, papercrafting way.  I will be teaching a class on how to make the Explosion Box Photo Album.  Here is the most recent one I created below.

Check out more about this awesome paper project in my new page that will be dedicated to all my class projects.  I am planning on teaching another class in May creating a stationary box, all out of paper.

Baby its cold outside...

So yeah, we got a little bit of snow out here in the Lehigh Valley.  I wish I could say I have been spending all my spare time scraping, but I have not had much time between shovelling snow, caring for my daughter, and maintaining our home.  I have kept up with my Thing a Day, so please be sure to check out the gallery.  This is the layout I created for today, Febuary 11.  I love it so much that it goes in my gallery and on my blog!

Thing a Day is GREAT!

So I have been getting so behind with Jessica's albums, that I have decided to take a new approach.  I will work on a layout at a time.  Well since I have signed up for Thing A Day, I have gotten so much done!  I love everything that I have created but what I am most proud of is cleaning up my craft room after I make each "thing."  Please be sure to check out the Thing a Day gallery

This weekend I will be taking a class at Scrapbooking's Inn learning different techniques for my layouts.  I am very excited because I really do use all these tips and trends I get from these classes.  If you feel like you are creatively stuck and you are in the Lehigh Valley Area, check out the store and see what you can learn.
